What's New?:
Curiosity is part of me, as I have always wondered about how things work. My Ph.D. career is a great opportunity to improve my skills and increase my thirst for knowledge. On the other hand, now it’s time to provide my personal contribution to the research world!
In October 2020, I obtained the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in "Music and Acoustic Engineering" at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. From November 2020 I joined the Ph.D. program in "Information Technology" working with the "Image and Sound Processing Group" at Politecnico di Milano. My main research interests are in Computational Acoustics and Space-Time Audio Processing using Deep Learning techniques. In particular, I focused on the characterisation of vibrating surfaces of complex shape (i.e., violin top plates) with novel combinations of Near-field Acoustic Holography analysis and Convolutional Neural Networks. I am also currently working on speech recognition and enhancement in noisy environments through a combination of classical signal processing methods and Deep Learning. I am focusing on challenging voice separation/extraction scenarios in the presence of heavy constraints on array geometry, number of sensors and limited computational power.
