Ann-Kathrin received her B.Eng. in Media Technologies from the University of Applied Science RheinMain (Wiesbaden) in August, 2011. In cooperation with the Panasonic R&D Center Germany GmbH, Langen, she wrote her bachelor thesis about “Adaptive Coefficients for Deblocking Filter within Hybrid Video Coding”. With her work, she contributed to the international standardization process of the new video coding standard H.265. Furthermore, her work at Panasonic was concerned with the analysis of the state-of-the-art intra prediction within hybrid video coding, as well as with analysis of stereoscopic video.
In October 2012, Ann-Kathrin started the masters program at Technische Universität Darmstadt in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a major in Communication and Sensor Networks. She graduated with a M.Sc. in May 2015. Her master thesis, related to biomedical applications of signal processing, was concerned with “Particle Filter for Image-based Photometric Glucose Measurement in Hand-held Devices”.
In October 2015, she commenced working on her PhD in the Signal Processing Group.
