SIDAS Forum & ChinaSIP - In 2013-2015, the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) held an annual event of ChinaSIP in China for domestic and international scientists, researchers, and practitioners to network and discuss the latest progress in theoretical, technological, and educational aspects of signal and information processing. Complementing the SPS flagship conferences ICASSP and ICIP being held for the first time in Mainland China, SPS holds special forum events in 2016 and 2017 to engage a broader technical community under the theme of the theme of "Signal and Data Science – Powering Our Digital Life". The IEEE SPS SIDAS Forum held in China features keynote and invited talks, panel discussions for professional development, R&D demos, and highlight poster presentations of recent work published in highly selective journals and conferences. Presentation slides and posters are archived on SigPort.

In this paper, the detection of shock wave that generated by supersonic bullet is considered. We present a new framework based on wavelet multi-scale products method. We analyze the method under the standard likelihood ratio test. It is found that the multi-scale product method is made in an assumption that is extremely restricted, just hold for a special noise condition. Based on the analysis, a general condition is considered for the detection. An optimal detector under the standard likelihood ratio test is proposed.
