In this study, we propose a 3D viewpoint calibration method. The method relies on the novel combination of 3D-SIFT (scale-invariant feature transform) keypoints and FPFH (fast point feature histogram) features, which are used for feature matching. Based on the feature correspondences, we compute the transformation to resolve the difference of the viewpoints.

In this paper, we propose naturalness-preserved tone mapping in images based on perceptual quantization (PQ). PQ is a transfer function based on Barten's contrast sensitive function (CSF) which represents human visual perception on luminance, and we adopt it to generate a limit curve for perceptual contrast enhancement. First, we obtain a limit curve in an image based on PQ transfer function to adjust the degree of contrast enhancement. Second, we redistribute the histogram using the limit curve and achieve perceptual contrast enhancement.

Currently, hexagonal image processing is mainly based on simulated data generated by square lattice conversions. For the evaluation of the conversion quality, this paper presents a method for ideal square to hexagonal lattice conversion. Based on the square lattice discrete-time Fourier transform (DTFT), the method first determines the values of the hexagonal discrete Fourier transform (HDFT), and performs the inverse HDFT to obtain the ideal conversion. This method provides a benchmark for evaluating other practical conversions and such evaluation is presented in this paper.

With the popularity of mobile devices having smaller screens, it is important to focus on the clarity of the displayed content for the end users. Currently, there is no link between the layout or size of displayed image and the information content in those images. In this paper, we present a method for optimally arranging and displaying a group of images, where the relative size of the images is proportional to the number of objects in the images, or the number of faces.

A new type of light field display called a tensor display was investigated. Although this display consists of only a few light attenuating
layers located in front of a backlight, many views can be emitted in different directions simultaneously without sacrificing the resolution
of each view. The transmittance pattern of each layer is calculated from a light field, namely, a set of dense multi-view images (typically
dozens) that are to be observed from different directions. However, preparing such images is often cumbersome for real objects. We propose

The digital scans of double sided documents suffer from distortions because the contents on the back side of the document often shows up on the front side in the scans and vice-versa either due to transparency of the paper or due to ink-bleeding. This is show-through effect. In this paper a state-space based approach is proposed for removing this commonly found contamination in the scans of duplex printed documents. Separate state-space representation for signals and parameters are defined and a dual state-parameter estimation approach is employed to alleviate the degradation in the scans.
